Perform multi-joint workouts. Without having to go to the gym, you can effectively gain muscle weight and develop them by doing common multi-joint movements like close grip bench presses, lat pulldowns, chin ups, deadlifts, bent-over rows, squats and bench presses.

Do not focus on isolation exercises if you are only interested on building muscles fast. Come up with a workout routine that incorporates these basic exercises and you will soon notice that your body is more toned and that your muscles are better sculpted. You have to stick with your routine though even if you find these basic exercises to be hard.

You can’t build muscles fast by doing a lot of sets per session or working out for more than an hour every day. An effective routine you can adopt includes adding weight to your exercise gradually, getting enough rest, following a nutritious diet and working as hard as you can infrequently.

Always use weights that are heavy for you. Do not go for the same weights other people might find heavy or force yourself to use the high rep pumping sets. If 100 lbs. is heavy for you then use that weight and gradually increase it as you go along your workout routine.

Make sure that you get sufficient rest. One trick to building muscles fast is giving your muscles enough time to recuperate after going through the stress of exercising. Working out every day is not ideal and will put too much strain on your body and will not help you at all to gain muscle weight. Schedule your work out to two to four times a week.

Working out to gain muscles requires discipline on your part. Do not give in to the desire of hitting the gym daily and risk overworking your body. Too much exercise can do damage to your muscles which will be detrimental to your goal of building muscles fast.
